Who Am I?

Jon Keevil, Owner

My original training was in engineering and computer science. I then switched to medicine and came to Madison in 1994 for medical training. I was a faculty cardiologist at UW Hospital and Clinics for 16 years and left in 2016 to run a software company I had created.

I began building mobile energy systems during the pandemic with my daughter in 2020 (that's us ready for spray foam). We first created "Delilah" a 28 foot Skoolie pictured above which included a 750W solar array, a 24V raw cell LiFePO4 battery, a 2,000W inverter, shore power and alternator charging systems.

My daughter then moved to a truck and trailer combination with a lovely 1973 Airstream Argosy which we built out to similar specifications. Both systems have continued to run well and my daughter lives in the Airstream full time during most of the year.

I started this business to help the community

Because adding solar power to mobile vehicles is complex and sometimes scary, I started Madison Mobile Solar to help people build safe, reliable and functional systems at a reasonable cost.

Certified Marine Electrical Advisor with the ABYC

The American Boat and Yacht Council is a highly respected creator of international standards for electrical (and all other) systems on boats which in many cases are more comprehensive than standards for RVs and other road based vehicles. I achieved certification in 2023.
